Each Obedience Class Series is made up of 6 classes that last 1 hour each, meeting once each week for 6 weeks. There is a 7th week automatically added in as a “buffer week.” This “buffer week” is added to keep on schedule and is only used if a class has to be postponed in the regular schedule. Each Behavior Obedience Class Series costs $110 (normally $265.00) and MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE in order to reserve your slot in the Class Series. See ‘Behavioral Obedience Class Schedule’ for remaining information.
BASIC SERIES: In the Basic Series Classes you and your dog will learn the following: Sit, Down, Heel, Stay, Wait, No Jump, Coming When Called, Turns, Circling, Eye Contact, and the 4-“It’s.” While some of these are “standard commands” and you may have learned a while ago, here’s the challenge for you… Do you know the REAL REASON why you have difficulty getting your dog to stay or sit or laydown? What’s the importance of teaching your dog how to “Turn?” Are you really “in charge” or just a treat dispenser? The BEST PART…. You will learn TRUE dog behavior and HOW TO APPLY these very COMMONLY COMMUNICATED DOGGIE BASICS. You will learn SB’s©Dog-2-Dog Intro, the CORRECT WAY TO INTRODUCE ONE DOG TO ANOTHER DOG! How to CORRECTLY read some basics of your dog’s body language, and learn what and how to communicate! ALSO! The “secret’s“ your dog REALLY REALLY does NOT want you to know!
TRANSITIONAL SERIES**: In this level, you will be building on the foundation of the Basic Series and learn how to start to REALLY train your dog to think and do for their self vs you doing a good portion of it from the Basic Series. Some of the things you will learn are: Emergency Down, Significant Distance Recall-Control-Reward Work, Off Lead Transition and how this is to CORRECTLY BE DONE, Close Quarters Association & Function, Distance Down/Stay/Recall, “Dog Switching,” Quarter Right/Left, and more. Also! Want to teach your dog how to go to their designated “spot” in one try? Walk around / past other dogs without any issues? Learn how to keep your dog in one place and walk away. Transitioning to walking off lead…. And more!
ADVANCED SERIES:** In the Advanced Series, we will learn from the foundations of the Basic and Transitional Series’ and real life tests. This series is highly recommended for all dogs in training for Service Work. Advanced Series is very limited in slots available to students as this series does not occur as frequently as the Basic or Transitional as there is significantly more one-on-one attention given at this level. Also, we train at the training facility and off-site locations. Therefore, all owners are required to carry a copy of their dogs required vaccinations on them when visiting our secondary locations. Some of the teaching this series offers is: Teaching your dog to Carry/Retrieve. 2-5 tricks, Appropriate Public Behavior, How To Greet Children and Individuals with Medical Equipment, Continuation of Learning Off Lead Walking, Mastering the On-Lead Walk, Dogs Walking Through and Past dogs, and much more.
** Successful completion of the Basic Behavioral Obedience Class Series is a mandatory pre-requirement for the Transitional Series. Successful completion of both Basic AND Transitional Class Series’ mandatory for the Advanced Series.
